The Ross Divett Foundation

The Ross Divett Foundation is an initiative of Centrelink staff to support the Australian Community. The Foundation is committed to the Australian community and will assist a broad range of individuals and organisations by distributing funds for charitable and community purposes.
Information and guidelines for applying
The Foundation has a Board of Directors who may, select and make grants from available funds to charitable organisations and for charitable purposes within Australia.
Once a year, the Foundation calls for applications for grants from community organisations that are registered deductible gift recipients.
Satisfying the eligibility criteria does not mean that funding will be available for all applications. In all grant making the Board will make final decisions.

Funding
As a Public Fund, donations will be accepted from the public. However, at this stage, the majority of funds are donated by Centrelink staff through automatic payroll deductions.
There are three main priorities for the allocation of funds:
- When funds permit the Board will establish a research grant at the John Curtin Medical Research Centre at the Australian National University or at a similar institution. This will support medical research and will be suitably named to honour Ross Divett.
- Immediate funds will be available to respond to crisis or natural disaster situations. The amount of funding distributed will be at the discretion of the Board.
- Once a year, the Foundation will call for applications for grants from community organisations that are registered deductible gift recipients. Priority may be given to programs that encourage the development of life skills and promote economic and social independence; and/or programs that provide solutions to the disadvantages experienced by rural communities.
