How Centrepay can benefit your business

Instead of having large bills every month or quarter, customers can pay their bills in smaller amounts direct from their Centrelink payment, making it easier for them to budget.

With Centrepay, deductions are made directly from customers’ Centrelink payments to your organisations nominated account. This payment option helps customers to pay their bills in a timely manner, because deductions are made before customers receive their Centrelink payment.

Through Centrepay, administrative costs including debt management and additional costs caused by the withdrawal and reconnection of your service (or services) to a customer, can be reduced.

Centrelink provides registered Centrepay organisations with the following services and support:

  • upfront deductions directly from customers’ payments
  • an alternative payment option that assists your customers to pay their bills on time
  • regular payment and deduction reports, via the internet
  • secure transfer of deduction payments directly to your organisations bank account
  • processing of deduction requests for mutual customers
  • customer assistance through Centrelink customer access points
  • help desk services 5 days a week, through a FreeCALL™ number
  • dedicated Centrepay staff for ongoing support
  • transaction fees incurred by your organisation are paid automatically with customers' deductions
  • monthly GST tax invoice for your records
  • free supply of promotional products including Centrepay forms, brochures and reply paid envelopes.
