What the Cadetship provides
Cadets will be paid a book and compulsory equipment allowance. Centrelink will pay HECS fees on completion of successful results for each semester the cadet is on the program. Centrelink pays HECS fees directly to the Australian Tax Office. Centrelink will not pay HECS fees for failed subjects, or if the student withdraws from the subject after the cut off date.
Cadets are paid at the Centrelink Cadet rate during their study period. During the semester break cadets attend workplacements, the paid rate is Centrelink Band 1 (age rates apply).

Cadets are not required to work in their home offices during the mid semester vacations (ie. Easter and September). Cadets are however required to work in their home office during the mid-year and end-of-year university breaks.
Cadets progress is reviewed at the end of each semester. On successful completion of the training and tertiary education requirements, the Cadet advances to the nominated Centrelink Band 1.1 and performs duties appropriate to that level.
