Centrelink provided immediate, short-term financial assistance to Australians affected by Tropical Cyclone George.
The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment was activated to assist those people adversely affected as a direct result of the cyclone.
Payments to households of $1,000 per adult and $400 per child were made available to eligible people who were seriously injured or whose principal place of residence was destroyed or rendered uninhabitable as a result of Tropical Cyclone George.
Note: This package has now closed.
