How do I lodge my claim?

You can lodge your form by posting it direct to one of our Assistance for Isolated Children Centres below or you can drop off your form at any Centrelink Customer Service Centre.

What information do I need to make a claim?

You may be required to provide evidence to support your claim as well as details of your child's study. For more information, telephone Centrelink on 13 2318.

Closing Date for Assistance for Isolated Children Claims

  • The closing date for all Assistance for Isolated Children claim forms is 31 December in the year of study.
  • Claims may be accepted if an intent to claim has been registered by 31 December of the year of study and the form lodged within 13 weeks. Claims will not be accepted under any circumstances if a form has not been lodged or an intent to claim has not been registered by 31 December of the year of study.
  • You can register your intent to claim by contacting Centrelink by phone on 13 2318 or in person, post or by fax. If you register your intent to claim, you must lodge your claim form within 13 weeks of contacting Centrelink or by 31 December in the year of study (whichever is later) to be eligible for payment for that year.
