Payment choices for families
If you are at risk of being overpaid your Family Tax Benefit or Child Care Benefit, there are payment choices available to help you.
All available payment choices have been designed to suit varying family circumstances to reduce the potential of being overpaid.
Families most at risk of being overpaid are those who get their Family Tax Benefit as fortnightly payments or Child Care Benefit as reduced child care fees, which are worked out using an estimate of your family's annual income.
If you receive Family Tax Benefit (FTB), you may have your ongoing payments adjusted automatically to avoid or reduce a projected FTB overpayment. This applies if you receive your payment fortnightly.
