Payment rates and information
Centrelink manages the payments for 10 Australian Government departments. The guide below is an introduction on how to find payment rate information on this website.
Where are the payment rates now?
The Centrelink website has been updated to include more information about various payments. All payments are listed in the payments index of the website.
All information has been grouped together on the one page. For example, the Newstart Allowance section has information and links to everything related to that payment. This way we can link all of the Newstart Allowance information on the site to that section. This means you get more information about everything to do with that payment in one area.
There are also a number of main headings on each page to help direct you through a payment. All pages are set out in order, so they will briefly outline:
- what you need to do to be eligible for a payment
- how to apply
- what information you need to send to Centrelink
- the payment rates
- links to other useful information such as income and assets tests, online publications and how to contact us.
How do I find my payment rate?
There are a number of ways to find a payment rate:
- view the payments index and choose a payment
- refer to the current Guide to Australian Government payments booklet
- select Payments and Allowances on the Quick links page
- If you know the name of a payment, type the payment name into Search, hit return or enter
- use the A - Z index of all pages on the website
