Australian Government Drought Assistance

New drought assistance measures are available to farmers, small businesses, farm hands, irrigators and industry.

Murray-Darling Basin Initiative and Irrigation Management Grant

Changes to water allocations mean farmers, farm families, owners of small businesses, irrigators and industry in the Murray-Darling Basin may be eligible for a number of assistance measures.

Murray-Darling Basin (MDB) Small Block Irrigators Exit Grant package

The Murray Darling Basin Small Block Irrigators Exit Grant Package is designed to assist Small Block Irrigators in the Murray Darling Basin.

Exceptional Circumstances Exit Package

The Exceptional Circumstances Exit Package provides assistance to eligible farmers who decide to leave the farming industry and re-establish themselves outside farming.

Household Stimulus Package

The Household Stimulus Package includes one-off bonus payments for some Centrelink customers, including families, students and farmers.

Australian Government Mobile Offices

The Australian Government Mobile Offices are specifically fitted out as an office on wheels and will travel through drought affected areas including the Murray-Darling Basin region.

Climate Change Adjustment Program

The Climate Change Adjustment Program was announced in the 2008 Federal Budget. It will provide assistance for primary producers to manage, adapt and adjust to the impacts of climate change.
