Low cost PCs
In a joint initiative Centrelink and WorkVentures, a not-for-profit organisation, are giving Centrelink customers the opportunity to access low cost personal computers (PCs).
WorkVentures have released a new batch of higher powered internet-ready PCs for just $330 which includes WorkVentures support to help you get set up at home.
For just $330 WorkVentures can provide:
- a complete desktop system (minimum specification Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, 40 GB hard drive and 1 GB RAM)
- Microsoft Windows XP Pro and Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- antivirus software
- a set-up and user guide
- 6 months warranty and free phone technical support
- home delivery to anywhere in Australia.
The low cost PC offer is available nationally to all Centrelink concession card holders. An easy to follow video training package is available for $40 for people new to computers.
Having access to a PC with internet access makes it easier for current Centrelink customers to do their business online with Centrelink Online Services, as well as enjoying the many benefits of modern technology.
