Applications for DHS Graduate program close soon

General Manager, Hank Jongen, today reminded graduates that applications for the Department of Human Services National Graduate Program are closing soon.
This year the program has been expanded to incorporate the Department of Human Services, Centrelink and Medicare.
Mr Jongen said the new program will provide graduates with greater experience and networking potential.
"As one of the largest Australian Government organisations with a workforce of 41,000 staff across Australia, graduates can expect exciting career opportunities," Mr Jongen said.
"The 12-month program offers graduates the chance to work in interesting and challenging roles, working to improve Government social and health-related services for all Australians.
"Successful applicants will be the first generation of graduates to experience cross-portfolio rotations, as well as shared learning and development experiences.
"You only need to submit 1 application for the Department of Human Services National Graduate Program, where you can choose which of the Portfolio areas you would like to begin your graduate experience with.
"There are opportunities for recent graduates in a wide range of fields, including psychology, information technology, law, social work, human resources, communication, accounting and finance, and generalist.
"Graduates will also complete a customised learning and development program, including a Diploma of Government qualification."
Applications for the August 2010 and January/February 2011 intakes for the program close on 27 April 2010.
