Centrelink’s new website means better Australian Government service delivery information for Australians.
"In response to customer feedback, Centrelink has revamped its website," said Centrelink General Manager, Hank Jongen.
"The result is a contemporary design with better access to Australian Government information and services.
"Centrelink delivers Australian Government services to more than 6.8 million regular customers nationwide.
"With more than 140 million pages viewed each year, the Centrelink website is crucial in linking customers to the information and services they need.
"Centrelink’s new website design makes it easier to find important information and do your business online using self-service.
"Now you can also share information across Delicious, Facebook, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon or Twitter straight from the Centrelink website.
"New features will be added in the coming weeks including the ability to print website pages in large type for people with vision challenges, plus an RSS feed so media can receive Centrelink announcements as they happen.
"The popular text-to-speech Talking Website feature will still be available through the easy-to-see Listen To This Page option.
"Since it was launched in July 2009, this ReadSpeaker option has been activated 100,000 times by people who may have trouble reading text on screen.
"Most weeks, the top pages chosen to be read out by customers relate to online self service, which shows how Centrelink’s website has become a valuable tool for many Australians.
"This new website design shows how Centrelink is responding to feedback from Australians and using that to deliver service that suits our customers."
