Dubbo’s Julie McLane has been presented with a prestigious national award in recognition of her outstanding work to improve the experience of Centrelink customers.
Julie, who works in service delivery strategy, was presented with her Centrelink Australia Day Achievement Award in Canberra by Area Manager Peter Gillies.
Just 22 Centrelink staff from across Australia were selected to receive an award, from a field of over 27,000 employees.
Julie says her motivation throughout her 22-year career has been to ensure that everyone, no matter who they are, receives the best service possible.
"The people you communicate with may not always remember what you told them, but they will always remember how you made them feel," Julie said.
Throughout her time with Centrelink, Julie says it has been a privilege to have worked in many different roles and to have the opportunity to pass on her knowledge to others.
She says she is honoured to have been asked to contribute to a new customer experience training package which is now being distributed nationally.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to share my stories and skills with other staff to improve the service they can provide to customers," Julie said.
South West New South Wales Area Manager, Peter Gillies praised Julie’s extraordinary enthusiasm and commitment to her work.
"Julie has been instrumental in developing and delivering customer experience training with great results," Peter said.
"She has a tremendous skill of drawing people into activities and passing on her knowledge.
"Julie is a great ambassador and passionate about the work she does, and she instills that passion in all those she works with."
