Medicare Australia will operate from the Mount Druitt Centrelink Customer Service Centre as of Monday, 26 July 2010, Human Services Portfolio General Manager Hank Jongen announced today.
"For the first time Medicare Australia and Centrelink staff will work side by side under one roof in Mount Druitt for the convenience of local customers - at the existing Centrelink Customer Service Centre at 3 Mount Street," said Mr Jongen.
"Medicare Australia will be offering Mount Druitt customers all the normal Medicare services, with EFT for benefit rebates.
"Customers wanting to use this rebate service need to register their bank account details with Medicare Australia, or have those details with them when they visit the Mount Druitt office for a Medicare benefit, so their rebate can be paid without delay.
