Centrelink will join rural service providers in the Wagga Wagga and Albury region for a free professional development day on Wednesday 24 March 2010.
The development day has been designed to encourage and inspire the many rural service providers in the region.
Centrelink Social Worker, Jeanette Lloyd and Rural Psychologist, Stuart Rennie will facilitate the event in conjunction with Serena Griggs from Relationships Australia.
Jeanette said the development day is being held in response to the success of similar sessions, which received overwhelmingly positive feedback from those who attended.
“The development day is a great opportunity for all service providers to come together for networking, support and skill sharing.
“Topics that will be covered on the day include how to work more effectively with men, dealing with family and domestic violence, and managing change.
“We have received great feedback from our last professional development day, so we’re holding this event so we can continue to link rural service providers to support and build networks,” Jeanette said.
“As a professional, it is very important to have the chance to catch up with others in the same line of expertise. This professional development day will allow people to be reinvigorated and energised, to share ideas with their colleagues and to learn new skills.”
The event will be held at the Baptist Church Hall in Tarcutta Street on Wednesday 24 March from 9:30 am to 4 pm.
