Special arrangements for customers in Upper Wilsons Creek
New South Wales media release
Thursday, 14 October 2010
Centrelink has put in place special arrangements today and tomorrow (14 and 15 October) for customers living in Upper Wilsons Creek who are affected by road closures due to heavy rainfall.
Centrelink Area Manager Brian Small said Centrelink has organised phone lodgement for customers who reside in the affected areas and cannot attend a Centrelink Customer Service Centre because of the road closures.
"Road closures may make it difficult for some customers to visit their Centrelink Customer Service Centre today for appointments or to lodge forms," Mr Small said.
The arrangements are for people living in Wilsons Creek and surrounding areas with the postcode 2482.
"These temporary arrangements mean customers who usually lodge their forms in person can do so over the phone if they can’t attend their local Centrelink Customer Service Centre due to road closures," Mr Small said.
"At this stage the special arrangements are for today and tomorrow only, but we will be keeping a close eye on the situation and will extend these arrangements if necessary.
"Customers who have appointments booked can call Centrelink to reschedule if they can’t make it in to their local office.
"I’d encourage any customers unable to visit Centrelink due to the floods, to call Centrelink on their main payment number."
