Northern Territory media release
Friday, 16 July 2010
Centrelink is reminding Income Managed customers that they need to contact Centrelink if they want to use income-managed funds to attend the Darwin Show on Thursday 22 to Saturday 24 July.
Centrelink Area Manager, Area North Australia, Barbara Causon said Centrelink recognises that many people will be travelling into Darwin for the Show and the agency can help income-managed customers attend.
"Customers are able to use their income-managed funds to pre-purchase tickets to the Show if all of their foreseeable priority needs have been met," Ms Causon said.
"Buying Show tickets needs to be arranged through Centrelink by cheque payment to the Show Society.
"Customers can take their Centrelink cheques out to the show grounds and purchase tickets prior to the Show, or the Show Society will also accept Centrelink cheques at the gate on the day."
BasicsCard will not be accepted anywhere at the showgrounds.
Customers can also access priority needs while in Darwin using their BasicsCard at approved BasicsCard merchants.
Income Managed customers can contact Centrelink on the Income Management Line 13 25 94 or attend a Centrelink Customer Service Centre for advice.
