Media release (Queensland):
Kingaroy Centrelink self-service promotion
Friday, 24 September 2010
Centrelink Kingaroy is holding a self-service promotion on Thursday, September 30, offering customers the chance to learn how to make the most of online service options.
Centrelink staff will be available to speak with customers about the benefits of self-service, and assist them to register, upgrade their access, or make a trial transaction.
A sausage sizzle will be provided and there will be some fun lucky-dip giveaways.
Centrelink Kingaroy manager Ann Rigbye said expert staff would be on hand all day to demonstrate how easy self-service is to use.
"It’s a great opportunity for customers to have a helping hand as they navigate their online self-service options for the first time," Ann said.
"The best thing about online self-service is customers can access it using their own computer, at whatever time suits them, or they can use one of the self-service computers available in the Centrelink office.
"Job-seekers, students, families, seniors and nominees can all use online self service to do routine business with us.
"We’re encouraging anyone interested in using self-service to take the opportunity to come in to the office on Thursday to learn how.
"Of course, our team at Kingaroy are always available to provide face-to-face assistance to customers when they need it," Ann said.
Centrelink customers can now also buy low-cost PCs thanks to an ongoing partnership between Centrelink and not-for-profit organisation WorkVentures.
WorkVentures has a new range of PCs available, including internet ready Pentium 4 PCs with Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office 2003 and technical support from $290 plus delivery.
Customers interested in purchasing a low-cost PC can contact their local Centrelink office or phone WorkVentures on 1800 112 205.
