Public Trustee service at Warwick Centrelink
Queensland Media Release
Monday, 18 January 2010
The Public Trustee Office of Queensland will soon start a free weekly visiting service from the Warwick Centrelink Customer Service Centre.
Staff from the Toowoomba Public Trustee Office will be available at the Warwick Centrelink site at 37 Albion Street every Tuesday from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
The service will begin on Tuesday, 16 February 2010, but appointments can be made now.
The Public Trustee Office offers a free Will service to all Queenslanders over the age 18 years. They can also draft Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) documents and provide estate planning information.
It is free to appoint the Trustee Office as EPA.
Warwick Centrelink Manager Nicki Mitchell said you do not have to be a Centrelink customer to access this new service.
"Centrelink is pleased that it’s been able to work with the Public Trustee Office of Queensland in offering this service to the whole Warwick community," Nicki said.
"We have found from talking to our customers that many were unable to access the service at Toowoomba, which is at least an hour away.
"Centrelink staff are often asked questions about the preparation of Wills or how to go about giving someone an Enduring Power of Attorney, so now customers can talk directly to Public Trustee staff to get the information they need."
Those interested in using this service are advised to make an appointment by calling 1300 360 444.
