Ringwood customers sign up for self-service option

Ringwood Centrelink customers are taking full advantage of Centrelink’s self-service options as a quick and efficient way to conduct routine business.
"More and more options are becoming available to Centrelink customers online and I’ve noticed more customers embracing it," said Ringwood Centrelink Manager, Chris Cahill.
"Just last week, a young job-seeker registered for self-service when he came into the office. He was still at the staff member’s desk, he took out his iPhone, logged onto the net and into his new Centrelink account.
"He changed his password, transacted his payment and was leaving within just a few minutes. Once you’re registered, it really is so easy!"
Chris said self-service sees customers conduct simple Centrelink business without speaking to a Customer Service Adviser – and for many, without even leaving their home.
"This is about autonomy, flexibility and convenience for our customers," said Chris.
"Customers have been pleased to make updates themselves and are surprised by the number of things they can do with our self-service options.
"Centrelink self-service allows people to update their personal details, check their next payment, or report employment earnings online or over the phone."
For those without a computer, Ringwood Customer Service Centre has three self-service PCs and a Centrelink Express facility where business can be done in just a few touches.
"Staff are also available to help customers register and find their ‘self-service’ feet," said Chris. " It’s important that customers feel comfortable using self-service.
"Our self-service PCs can also be used to search Government, community, banking, education and job search websites."
Centrelink’s partnership with not-for-profit organisation WorkVentures means Centrelink customers can purchase high-quality, low-cost and internet-ready PCs from $290.
You can find forms at your Centrelink office or phone WorkVentures on 1800 112 205.
