Centrelink has put in place special arrangements for customers impacted by road closures for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Championships on 29 September.
Geelong Centrelink Manager, Kevin Dunstan, said Centrelink has organised phone lodgement arrangements for customers who reside in the Geelong area and who may experience difficulty attending the Geelong Centrelink Customer Service Centre.
"Geelong Centrelink will be open for business as usual, however main road closures may make it difficult for some customers to visit the office to lodge their ‘Application for Payment’ form or to report their income," Mr Dunstan said.
"This temporary arrangement means that customers in Geelong who are due lodge their forms in person can do so over the phone if they are unable to access the Geelong Centrelink Office.
"Customers also have the option of attending the Corio Centrelink Office at Corio Village Shopping Centre, or reporting their income online via the Centrelink website.
"I’d encourage any customer needing to visit Centrelink, but who is unable to due to the road closures, to call Centrelink on their main payment number."
