Learn how to serve yourself online at Geraldton Centrelink
Western Australia media release
Friday, 18 June 2010
Centrelink customers are invited to visit the Geraldton customer service centre on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 June to learn how to make the most of Centrelink’s online self-service options.
Centrelink Geraldton manager Kath Gadsden said customers can come in to the office to get an introduction to online self-service.
“We’ll have expert staff on hand all day on Tuesday and Wednesday to demonstrate how easy self-service is to use.
“It’s a great opportunity for customers to get a helping hand as they navigate their online self-service options for the first time.
“The best thing about online self-service is customers can access Centrelink services anywhere they have internet facilities,” Kath said.
“Students, families, seniors and nominees can all use online self service to do routine business with us, and soon job seekers will be able to as well.
“If customers aren’t able attend on Tuesday or Wednesday, I’d encourage them to ask about self service next time they visit the office. Our team at Geraldton are always available to provide face-to-face assistance to customers when they need it,” Kath said.
Centrelink customers can now also buy low-cost PCs thanks to an ongoing partnership between Centrelink and not-for-profit organisation WorkVentures.
WorkVentures has a new range of PCs available, including internet ready Pentium 4 PCs with Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office 2003 and technical support from $290 plus delivery.
Customers interested in purchasing a low-cost PC can contact their local Centrelink office or call WorkVentures on 1800 112 205.
Customers will be able to learn how to use self-service at the special event on Tuesday 22 and 23 June from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm at the Geraldton Centrelink Customer Service Centre located at the corner of Forrest Street and Chapman Road, Geraldton.
