Report employment income

If you are eligible, you can report your employment and activity test details online instead of returning your usual application for payment form to a Customer Service Centre.

You need to register for online services to use these secure services. Once you have registered, select the logon button at the right of your screen to start using online services.

Reporting information

It is important to remember the following information when you report your employment and activity test details:

  • you can report on or after your reporting date. You cannot report before your reporting date
  • report by 5.00 pm on your reporting date to avoid any delays in your payment
  • if you have to meet the activity test, you can report online up to three days after your reporting date. If you are more than three days late, you need to return your completed application for payment form to your nearest Centrelink Customer Service Centre
  • if you are a student, you can report online up to 13 days after your reporting date. If you are more than 13 days late, you need to call us or visit your nearest Centrelink Customer Service Centre
  • if you are not a student or if you don't have to meet the activity test, you can report online up to six days after your reporting date. If you are more than six days late, you need to return your completed application for payment form to your nearest Centrelink Customer Service Centre, or follow the instructions on your reporting income statement.

Access level

Your access level is confirmed when you register for online services. The access level required for each service is shown in the table above. This means you may be able to use services at this level or lower, as long as they suit your circumstances.
