The maximum amount of Advance Payment you can get will depend on the payment rate of your main payment. The amount of the advance is limited by minimum and maximum amounts which are determined by the type and rate of payment you receive.
When you make a claim, we will assess how much Advance Payment you can have.

Paying the money back
Repayments are made over 6 months by reducing your main payment. Repayments will automatically start from the 1st main payment after you get the Advance Payment. You can also make extra repayments in cash at your nearest Centrelink Customer Service Centre.
If the Centrelink payment you receive changes, repayments will continue from your new payment.
If you stop receiving a Centrelink payment, you will still need to repay the amount you owe.
