Generally you will not need to lodge a claim for Bereavement Payment.

We will look at what payments you may be entitled to receive.

Just contact us about the death, and we will let you know what will happen next.

In some cases, such as the death of a new baby, you will need to lodge a claim for Bereavement Payment form.

If you are eligible for Bereavement Payment

If you are eligible for a Bereavement Payment we will send you a letter advising when you will receive your payment and how much you will get.

You always have the right to appeal any decision made by Centrelink.
