Income and assets
The amount of Carer Payment (child) you get depends on:
- your income and assets, and
- the income and assets of the child you are caring for.
Note: If you are not the parent of the child you are caring for, and the child does not receive an income support payment from Centrelink, special care receiver income and assets tests apply.
Working, volunteering or studying/training
You can work, volunteer or study/train for up to 25 hours a week (including time taken to travel) and still be eligible for Carer Payment (child). Any income you receive may affect your rate of payment.
