Child Care Tax Rebate

The Child Care Tax Rebate covers a percentage of your out-of-pocket expenses for approved child care, up to a maximum amount per child per financial year. Out-of-pocket expenses are total child care fees less Child Care Benefit (this includes any Jobs, Education and Training Child Care Fee Assistance if applicable).

From 1 July 2008, (for the 2008-09 financial year onwards), the Child Care Tax Rebate is 50 per cent.
For 2006-07 and 2007-08 financial years, the Child Care Tax Rebate is 30 per cent.
