Payment rate
The Double Orphan Pension payment rate is $57.20 per fortnight. This payment rate is effective from 20 March 2012.
Additional payments
You may receive an additional amount of Double Orphan Pension. This depends on the amount of Family Tax Benefit paid for the child before they became an orphan.
Income and assets tests
To qualify for Double Orphan Pension, you do not have to meet income or assets tests.
Taxation
Double Orphan Pension is not taxed.
Payment adjustments and reviews
Double Orphan Pension is usually adjusted on 1 January each year in line with the Consumer Price Index—that is, in line with increases in the costs of living.
Double Orphan Pension is generally reviewed every 2 years or where a change in your circumstances indicates you should have a review.
