Can I get Family Tax Benefit Part A if I am a Foster Parent or if I have Children placed in Foster Care?If you are caring for a newborn baby before adoption you may be paid Family Tax Benefit. If you are legally responsible for the day-to-day care, welfare and development of a young person or, the young person is wholly or substantially in your care, you can also be eligible for Family Tax Benefit. If you have children placed in foster care for short periods (voluntarily or involuntarily), you may continue to be paid Family Tax Benefit.
