Centrelink payment

You may be eligible for Pensioner Education Supplement if you are receiving one of these payments from Centrelink:

In some cases, you may keep on receiving Pensioner Education Supplement if you transferred to one of these payments before 1 July 2006:

Department of Veterans’ Affairs payment

Depending on your circumstances—for example, if you have a dependent child or are caring for someone—you may qualify for Pensioner Education Supplement if you are receiving from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs:

  • Defence Widow/er
  • Invalidity Service Pension
  • Partner Service Pension
  • Special Rate Disability Pension
  • War Widow/er Pension
  • weekly compensation under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act.

Other Pensioner Education Supplement eligibility rules

To be eligible for Pensioner Education Supplement, you must also be:

  • studying full-time, or
  • a single parent, a carer or have a substantial disability and undertaking approved part-time study (part-time study is at least 25% of a full-time study load), and
  • studying in approved secondary education courses, graduate courses, undergraduate courses, and some Masters, diplomas and TAFE courses.

You must also be a resident of Australia and in Australia to meet the residence requirements for Pensioner Education Supplement.
