Income and Assets Tests for Sickness Allowance:

These income and assets tests are effective from 20 September 2008.

Income Test:

A personal income test applies.

Assets Test:

Homeowners go to assets test for homeowners.
Non-Homeowners go to assets test for non-homeowners.
Payment may be deferred when liquid assets exceed $2500 (single) or $5000 (couple or single with dependents).
Hardship provisions may apply.
