Payment rates
These payment rates for Widow Allowance are effective from 20 March 2011.

Note: Pharmaceutical Allowance may be paid.
Income and assets tests
The amount you get depends on your income and assets.
Payment adjustments and reviews
Widow Allowance is usually adjusted on 20 March and 20 September each year in line with the Consumer Price Index—that is, in line with increases in the costs of living.
If you started receiving Widow Allowance on or after 20 September 2003, you need to attend an interview with Centrelink every 12 months to review your situation.
To keep getting paid Widow Allowance, you also need to submit a review form to Centrelink:
- every 2 weeks—if you are earning income from working
- every 12 weeks—if you are not earning income.
