Payments
Reporting income if you work
If you are receiving Youth Allowance and you are working, you must report your employment income to us every 2 weeks, even if you have a fortnight where your income is zero. If you report your income by 5 pm on your reporting day, you will receive your payment the next working day.
How to report
If you are looking for work you need to report your income on your fortnightly Application for Payment form.
If you are a full-time student we will send you a Reporting and Income Statement (RIS) every 3 months. This will tell you your reporting dates for the next 3 months, what information you need to provide to us, and the balance of your income bank.
To report your income, you can:
- refer to the online services page
- phone 13 EARN (13 3276) to access the phone self service option
- phone 13 2490 to talk to a Customer Service Adviser
- fax or mail a completed income record form to your local Centrelink Customer Service Centre
- visit your nearest Centrelink Customer Service Centre
