Job Network:

Centrelink provides referrals to the Job Network service, which provides:

  • information about Job Network members and services
  • a referral service to Job Network members
  • employment self help facilities to help job seekers with their job search efforts.

Job Network services are provided nationally by a network of organisations dedicated to helping job seekers find and keep a job. Services provided by Job Network include the following:

  • Job Search Support - gathering vacancies from employers and matching the skills and experience of job seekers to job vacancies.
  • New Enterprise Incentive Scheme - helps job seekers with ideas for a viable business to establish their own business.

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations contracts organisations to provide Job Network. Not all Job Network members provide the full range of services outlined above.

Job seekers claiming Newstart,Youth Allowance or Parenting Payment (with participation requirements) will immediately be referred to a Job Network member at their first contact with Centrelink to help them find employment. For further details, go to the New Requirements for Job Seekers Factsheet.
