Visiting Services
What are visiting services?
Many Centrelink Customer Service Centres conduct visiting services to places in rural and remote Australia. The frequency of these visits and the types of Centrelink staff who provide the services are usually based on consultations with local communities and the specific needs of the customers involved. For example, Financial Information Service Officers hold regular seminars in small towns where there are sufficient numbers of farmers who are considering retirement and who need information about their social security options.
What can staff conducting visiting services do?
Staff conducting visiting services can conduct appointments, provide specific information on entitlements and eligibility and provide general advice and assistance with forms and customer requirements.
